Sheridan athletics continue to be disrupted by the pandemic restrictions from the state of Colorado. There was a condensed "Season B." The season was delayed until late January. Sheridan schools were on a remote learing status from November through the middle of January. As there was no in building classes there was no opportunity to recruit students to play in the winter sports season. Girls basketball was a casualty as a result. Because there were not enough players there was no girls basketball for this season. The wrestling team fielded only six wrestlers. They competed in only three scheduled events this season. Spectators will not be allowed into the games. All players are required to wear masks. Arrangements were made with FHHS Network (National Federation of State High School Associations) to live stream Sheridan boys basketball games. There is a fee of $10.99 per month. Each season is shortened, which means less games, matches, and meets will be held.
The format does not necessarily mirror other states but matches current Colorado CDPHE restrictions.
It is still possible that some sports may be cancelled and audience attendance may be restricted.
It is clear from the CHSAA release these scheduled seasons were approved by Governor Polis.
It should also be noted that parents and students were never given and opportunity to express their views.

*Football will be allowed begin practice on February 22 and conclude with state championship games on May 8. Only eight teams in each classification will be allowed to advance to the state playoffs. Season C Football was cancelled because there were not enough players.

There are significant changes to the football schedule this season. Of the six home football games, four are scheduled on Thursday evenings. All home football games this season start at 6:00 pm. The lack of high school football officials is the primary cause for this change. Other conference football teams with Thursday evening games include Jefferson and Manual High Schools. There are two boys home soccer games scheduled on Fridays. The first is on September 13, 2019 with the varsity game staring at 4:00 pm the other is on October 5, 2019 with the varsity game starting at 7:30 pm. There are also some softball games scheduled on Fridays including the Sheridan Tournament on August 30, an away game on September 20, 2019, and a double header home game on October 11, 2019 with scheduled start times of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Because of the ongoing state response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Colorado schools have been closed after spring break, 2020. All spring sports were cancelled for 2020.

For football only, due to a decreased enrollment, Sheridan has been moved down to the single "A" classification for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. They will play in the Foothills Confernece, which includes: Clear Creek, Jefferson, Lake County, Manual, Platte Canyon, and Sheridan. The football season starts one week earlier this year. Sheridan will only play three home games this season. Those games are on August 24, October 12, and October 19, 2018. The Homecoming game date has not been determined at this time. It will probably be on October 12 or 19, 2018.
