Lisa Schwartz is a first generation college graduate who understands what it is like to overcome many challenges at a young age. She has resided in Colorado since 2003 and is married to an educator. She and her husband have a blended family of four children who range in age from 22-15. Their oldest child recently graduated from CU Boulder, and the other three will likely graduate as Buffs as well.
Lisa graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Minor in Secondary Education.
Lisa started her career in Adams 14 School District in 2006 and served there for the first ten years of her career as a teacher and administrator. She taught 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English as well as 11th and 12th grade AVID while at Adams City High School.
During her final three years with Adams 14 School District, she worked as an assistant principal for Adams City High School and Lester Arnold High School. During those years, she organized the State Review Panel, led a Turnaround Committee, developed each school's UIP, and created and monitored major improvement strategies. While she served there, she earned her M.A. from CU Boulder in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity and her administration license from Colorado State University.
In 2016, she decided to pursue a leadership position in St. Vrain Valley School District and served as an assistant principal at Mead High School for three years in order to better understand how a healthy school district functions. Lisa then pursued a principalship in Weld Re-8 School District to return to serving in a high-need system, and was granted the opportunity to serve as the principal at Fort Lupton Middle School.
Serving as the principal at Sheridan High School is a dream
come true. Lisa has a deep passion for serving high-need communities
and works to develop systems that support excellence for all.
She is currently pursuing her doctorate from CU Denver in Equity
and Executive Leadership, and she intends to be a consistent presence
at Sheridan High School for many years to come.
